Macey Russell Dinner

The Macey Russel Dinner is an event held every September in which Black speakers are invited to speak before Trinity students, specifically athletes of color. It is named after Macey Russel, a class of 1980 Trinity graduate.

Russel was invited to campus in 2005 to speak before student-athletes of color by Head Football Coach Jeff Devaney. Russel had played football during his time at Trinity, and wanted to talk to the students about their experiences. The event has been held annually ever since, with an expanding list of Black speakers. Russel continues to mentor athletes of color, and has also played a significant role as a Trinity alumni, serving on the Board of Fellows, the Trinity College Alumni Association Executive Board, and hosting various events.
