The Exempt Staff Council (ESC) is a group of elected staff members who represent the voice of the salaried staff across all divisions of the College. This group is distinct from the Non-Exempt Staff Council (NESC), which consists of members of Trinity’s staff who are on the biweekly payroll. Exempt Staff are employees who are legally exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) because they are being paid a salary, rather than an hourly wage.

The ESC represents exempt employee interests in various organizational committees such as the Planning & Budget Council, Benefits Committee, and the Facilities Committee. In addition to operating at a bureaucratic level, the ESC has an Ombudsperson, an informal, neutral resource intended to help address or resolve workplace conflicts interpersonally.
