Both men's and women's [[athletics|diving and swimming]] teams (and at one point, the men's water polo squad) utilize the Natatorium. Previously, the teams had used the [[trowbridge_pool_squash_facility|Trowbridge Pool]], which was built in 1929 and was one of the first facilities to be constructed in the Ferris Athletic Center. By the 1990s it was outdated, and had even been called "the second worst in New England" by Trinity's Athletic Director at the time, Rick Hazelton.
